General
A fuel gas supply system (often named GRS-System) shall be able to transfer clean, dry gas from the transfer point (gas pipeline) to the consumer(s) at the gas supply conditions as specified by the consumer manufacturer.
The fuel gas supply system shall be provided with all necessary equipment, valves, instrumentation and pipework etc. to treat the gas in the requirements. The installation shall be designed to ensure satisfactory operation over the range of plant output and ambient conditions and to facilitate inspection, cleaning and repairs. The need for routine maintenance shall be minimized and the design shall provide easy access to all parts requiring inspection and maintenance.
Main components of a fuel gas supply system:
Main gas system:
• Emergency shutdown valve
• Scrubbers / Filters
• Custody metering system
• Condensate removal and disposal system
• Fuel gas dew point heaters
• Pressure regulation system
• Venting and inert gas purging system
• Distribution piping and valves
• Control Panels
• Gas chromatograph
• etc.
Gas turbine related systems:
• Metering system
• Efficiency heater
• Filters
• Condensate removal and disposal system
• Venting and inert gas purging system
• Distribution piping and valves
• Control Panels
• etc.
The fuel gas supply system should consist of redundant trains where required, so that maintenance activities can be conducted on various items of equipment without impacting the supply of gas to the plant/consumers.
