Project engineer – plant engineering (all genders)
As a Project Engineer for oil and gas projects, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, installation, and commissioning of the fuel supply systems we deliver for gas or oil. You will work closely with our experienced engineering team, gaining valuable practical experience and insights into various aspects of the projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and grow in the project business. Over the next few years, our goal is to provide you with targeted training and guidance to develop the necessary skills and project management knowledge, with the aim of progressing towards a position as a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in collaborating with clients to understand project requirements, specifications, and objectives
- Support the development of project plans, timelines, and cost estimates under the guidance of senior engineers
- Contribute to the creation of detailed engineering designs for fuel gas, fuel oil supply, and treatment systems, including piping layouts, equipment specifications, instrumentation, control systems, and safety features
- Learn to evaluate and select appropriate equipment and components for the systems based on project requirements, budget, and technical specifications
- Support senior engineers in coordinating with vendors to evaluate technical proposals, review equipment datasheets, and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Assist in the oversight of the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems at client sites, under the guidance of senior engineers
- Learn to conduct performance tests to verify system functionality and assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during the commissioning phase
- Collaborate with senior engineers in supporting the modernization and rehabilitation of existing plants, gaining exposure to assessment and improvement processes
- Participate in providing training and services to clients, including operation and maintenance training for the installed systems
This is you
- Technician and/or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related field
- Practical experience in the planning, installation, or commissioning of industrial plants, through internships or vocational training, is advantageous
- Knowledge of engineering software and tools is advantageous
- Good analytical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for details
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and customers
- Self-motivated, with a strong interest in learning and a willingness to develop technical and project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
- Willingness to travel to customer locations
- Good command of the English language
- Understanding/speaking the German language would be very nice to have
